The Private Collection Chardonnay has layered tropical fruit notes of apricot, pawpaw and mango lifted with fresh citrus zest and blood orange notes. The undertones comprise of layered biscotti and shortbread characters. The wine has a zesty entry with a broad mouthfeel and lingers delightfully on the palate.

• WINEMAKERS COMMENTS: This vintage gave a phenolic ripeness that was slightly delayed. It was important to be patient and wait for the aromatics to develop before picking. This resulted in great complexity and a beautiful natural acidity to the wine.
• TERROIR: Combination of weathered sandstone and decomposed granite on a South-West facing slope.
• VINIFICATION DETAILS: Predominantly the whole bunch pressed, with minimal sulphur use before fermentation. The juice is racked to barrel after one day of settling and a portion is left to ferment naturally. Whole bunch pressed. Partial natural ferment. Left on lees for 11 months. 50% completed MLF. 13% new oak. Rest in older 500L and 300L barrels.
