Epoxidized soybean oil (ESBO) is a pale-yellow, clear liquid derived from soybean oil through a chemical process called epoxidation.

Key Properties:

Excellent plasticizer and stabilizer: ESBO is widely used in the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and its copolymers to enhance their flexibility, durability, and heat/light stability.   

Non-toxic and environmentally friendly: It is considered safe for use in various applications, including food packaging materials.

Good compatibility: ESBO is compatible with a range of materials, including PVC, polyvinyl acetate (PVA), nitrocellulose, and chlorinated rubber.   

Heat and light resistance: It helps protect PVC products from degradation caused by exposure to heat and light.   

Acid scavenging: ESBO acts as an acid scavenger, neutralizing hydrochloric acid released during the thermal degradation of PVC.
