What can you do with it?

Sanding bands will generally remove finish and material (wood or other soft material). These bands are also used for (rough) shaping and smoothing or rust removal from metal. If you want to remove just finish, consider something less aggressive like a flap wheel (no. 502 or 504), or a buff like the no. 511S/512S or 511E/512E.

How to use?

The physical appearance of the band indicates what grit it is, the larger the bumps the lower the grit.

Sanding bands are available in 120 and 60 grit. The lower the grit, the more material is removed.

Sanding bands will wear out and are replaceable by loosening the screw on the top of the drum or using the DREMEL exclusive EZ Speedclic sanding drum, for even faster band replacement.

Materials to use on

These bands can be used to sand / smooth softer materials like hardwood, softwood, plastic, fiberglass, aluminum but also for rust removal of metal types, like steel. What can you do with it?

Common uses for the Dremel sanding disc include smoothing and shaping wood or removing paint. is great for (smooth) flat and edge sanding of soft materials such as wood and fiberglass Dremel sanding discs have a finer grit than Dremel sanding bands. Also used for rust removal
The lower the grit, the more material removal.
The SC411 (grit: 60) and SC 411 (grit: 240) are from the Dremel Exclusive EZ Speedclic family. This makes accessory changes easy as PULL - TWIST - RELEASE.

How to use?

These discs are best used with the Dremel tool facing towards the work piece, and are flexible to accommodate for any curves on the project. We recommend using mainly the center of the disc for maximum results.

Sanding discs will wear out and are replaceable by removing the mandrel.

How to use?

When using a 511S or 512S, after turning on the tool, touch the buff LIGHTLY to the material and pass over the area a few times until the material is cleaned up. A lighter touch is the best technique with this accessory. Pushing on the buff will damage it and wear it out more quickly. To extend the life of the 511S, 512S, they should not be be run in excess of 15,000 rpm

What can you do with it?

Good for slicing, making straight cuts and slots in all kinds of metal, like hardened steel, sheets metal or aluminum.
Easily cut bolts, or make slots in rusted and/or stripped bolts / screws for removal with a screwdriver.

How to use?

Use with 402 Mandrel: unscrew the top screw on the mandrel using the wrench, put the screw through the middle hole of the disk and screw it back on the mandrel.

If using the metal cutting wheels, cut on high speed – use light pressure. The wheels will last longer and cut faster if light pressure is used rather than heavy pressure and there is less risk of breaking it.

Since these disks are abrasive, the diameter of the wheel is going to wear away. If the wheel becomes too small to execute the cut, stop the cut and replace the wheel.

When using a cut-off wheel, we recommend using a two handed golf like grip to hold and guide the tool and go for a right angle. If you angle the wheel in the cut, the wheel will probably break.

Materials to use on

This cut-off disk can be used on different metal types, like aluminum, copper, cast iron. But also for short cuts in plastic or brick.
On materials like a galvanized metal (Ductwork) or hardened steel, it’s best to use reinforced cut-off wheel (426). Other materials it can be used on: Glass fibre reinforced plastics, Brick, Marble, Drywall/Plasterboard, Aerated Concrete, Soft Metal, Brass, Hardened Steel, Gold, Aluminium, Silver, Stainless Steel, Cast iron, Copper, Plastic.

What can you do with it?

For slicing and cutting metal including hardened steel. Ideal for cutting, grooving and trimming all kinds of metal. Cut-off wheels make it easy to cut bolts or screws or make slots in rusted or stripped bolts and screws for removal with a screwdriver. Reinforced with fiberglass for increased durability. The SC409 wheels have a thickness of just 0.75 mm for even thinner cuts.

What can you do with it?

Cutting wheels only work on their edge. Plastic can melt at high RPM, so we recommend to start at low RPM and not exceed the RPM limit of 15.000 RPM.
