Buprofezin targets the immature stages of insects, such as eggs, nymphs, and larvae. It works by:   

Inhibiting chitin synthesis: Chitin is a tough substance found in the exoskeletons of insects. By preventing the production of chitin, buprofezin interferes with the insects' ability to molt and develop.   

Suppressing oviposition: In some cases, buprofezin can also reduce the number of eggs laid by adult female insects, further limiting the insect population.
