Wood industry

Particleboard production

The company is considered a pioneer in the particleboard industry, as the particleboard industry is mainly based on the use of bagasse resulting from sugar production processes from cane. This is to produce particle board thickness 15 mm - thickness 8 mm.

The sugar company is considered one of the first companies to establish factories to produce particleboard (MDF) in order to exploit sugar industry waste from cane and benefit from it in the wood industry.

The company produces particleboard, plain wood covered with melamine or natural veneer, in its factories in Como Ombo.

Wood is a porous, hygroscopic organic material that can be moulded, meaning it takes different positions in its growth in response to external influences.

Woods are divided into two types: hardwoods and softwoods, some are natural and some are artificial. These types are glued using chemical adhesives for industrial processing, based on urea-formaldehyde resins. They are then pressed in mechanical presses under different pressures and temperatures appropriate to the purposes for which they are required.

These panels are used for the purpose of sound absorption or heat insulation, and here it is necessary to make a white veneer for them with gypsum or plaster, or paint them with water-based paint such as glue paint.

Or in making carpentry and furniture pieces, here they are covered with plywood panels and painted with oil paint or varnish.

It is manufactured in the form of panels with the following sizes, thicknesses and weights: 2.44m x 1.22m - 3.66m x 1.22m.

The densities produced are:
