Tasting Notes

Aromas and Flavors: The wine features a gamey concentration of blackcurrant, cherry, and peppercorn, complemented by hints of blueberry on the palate. It offers a full-bodied experience with grippy tannins, making it robust yet approachable

Body and Structure: This blend is well-rounded, with a medium to full body that balances fruitiness with spice, thanks to the contributions of each varietal in the blend. The Shiraz provides typical red fruit flavors and spiciness, while the Mourvèdre adds herbal notes and fresh berry undertones. The Viognier enhances the aromatic profile, bringing a touch of floral freshness

Winemaking Process
The grapes for this wine are meticulously harvested:

Shiraz and Mourvèdre: Picked fully ripe during the early morning to preserve freshness.
Viognier: Harvested once the skin shows a slight yellow hue before being whole-bunch pressed.
After crushing, the must undergoes a cold soak for a week prior to fermentation using selected Rhône yeast strains. The wine is then aged in a combination of new (15%) and used French and American oak barrels for 12 months before blending and bottlingJuno Shiraz/Mourvèdre/Viognier is a distinctive blend of Rhône varietals that showcases the unique terroir of South Africa's Swartland region.
